Here's a clip kindly forwarded to me by Ron Ulu featuring the ever popular Riff Raff humbuckers.

Ron played a 1971 Gibson 335 with Riff Raff BKP's...Aero played a Fender Bass fitted with J+P BKP's...

Nice one !

It was very interesting to hear how the Riff Raffs put their characteristic edge and bite on the notes in this context.

For my personal preference, I still prefer the rounder tones of the Stormy Monday or Mississipi Queens in a 335 type guitar - but the Riff Raffs certainly provide a very valid alternative to the smoother B.K.P  pickups  a 335.  I presume  that they may be closer ( than the S.Ms & M.Qs ) to the Gibson '57 Classics in character ?
