These are 2 clips of me playing my Gibson ES-335 with my new Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday (Alnico 4) pickups.

The first video has very poor audio quality (excuse me for that)...I was just noodling infront of my new webcam...

The second one is actually a slideshow of some pics of the SMs, and a better audio clip (it's me again playing over the same ZZ Top backing track):

You can hear this track also here:

Beautifully balanced !

I do not know who would be proudest of you in the second 'You Tube' rendition, Tim or Larry !  Lovely playing of spaces and notes.   Cool

This is another clip of me playing over a bluesy backing track:

http://www.box.net/shared/aslhfq7lst

I am using again my ES335 with Stormy Monday pickups, on a Tech21 Trademark 30 amp (Marshall simulation this time-using a little more "dirt").

Except for the main solo, I play some minor parts here and there, because the backing track was too empty (only bass, drums and acoustic guitar) and I thought that I could enhance it a bit...

WOW !  Very Happy

I put my headphones on, to really get 'inside' that track - and it was mesmerising ! The little trills and embelishments really showed the open quality of the AIV Stormys ( and your deft touch as a player ).   The tone was so sweet - and the choice of improvisation / notes was really inspiring.

I presume that after your initial settling in / adjustment period - you must be very happy with your pickups !

That could have been assumed to have come straight off a major name album.  Definate shades of Carlton, Gilmour and Green in  there, but decidedly in your own style - not just a facimile of other people's stuff.

Nice work Elavd, nice work indeed !  Cool

I don't know if you really mean it, but it sure makes me feel very happy...

I dont' know whether to thank you or curse you !

I love the tone you are getting and also your playing, as theres hints of so many players that I adore without any copying.

However now I hear you have started a gas attack, for a 335, Storm Mondays and some magic fingers.

Oh yeah I particularly like the octaves bit right at the end of the 1st video, as I simply wasn't expecting it

Thank you again

O forgot, I assume you are much happier with the pickups now ?

Thank you Rob for your kind words...

To tell you the truth, I didn't post these clips in order to show off my...slowhand technique... Laughing (I am the last person that could show off guitar skills...)

The main reason that I've posted them was to contribute to this forum with some clips that would be representative to these pickups.
The main problem for all of us who buy via the web, is that we can't always find clips of all the available pickups...

So, I think that especially the last clip of mine is 99% representative to the sound that I hear Wink

I assume you are much happier with the pickups now ?

As I said before, I LOVE my sound!!! Very Happy

Hey when something is good you have to say something.

Listened to your other track (the one on box.net) and now for some reason I have had Steely Dans : Pretzel Logic running through my head.

Anyway love the playing & the tone
